People’s Cook Book is Here!

At long last our cook book has arrived! Featuring submissions from members and Green Leaf  Deli favorites, this little book will give you lots of ideas for healthy eating with ingredients you can purchase at our coop. Come in and get one while they last. Only $10.00!

Patronage Refund

If you have not heard, People’s Grocery changed from a discount to a patronage refund structure for its owners in July 2009. The first patronage refunds are now available in our store at 1620 Fort Riley Blvd. Patronage Refunds are simply a portion (this time about 5%) of your purchases being returned to you in store credit as a form of ‘dividend’ on your equity investment in the Cooperative.

This first Patronage Refund covers purchases made from July – Dec 2009. If you spent money at the Coop using your member number during this time period you should have a refund. The total amount refunded is over $10,000!! Approximately half of those who received a refund have collected them so far. Refunds ranged from a couple cents up to $200.

Looking for a positive way to invest your tax return? Or maybe you have some money sitting in a savings account or money market fund earning around 1-2%.

Here at peoples grocery we are offering our owners the chance to invest in our local cooperative on a short term basis with an interest rate that is almost double what you may get with traditional short term investment vehicles.

People’s Grocery has been providing Manhattan and the surrounding communities with quality, healthy, local and organic foods for the last 35 years! and is now in the process of upgrading the store to a brand new facility. This is your chance to make a smart investment and be a part of something local, sustainable, responsible and positive for our community.

This is a truly unique opportunity for us at People’s Grocery to invite our owners to share in the success that we have been so blessed with, and to give back to the community that has been so good to us over these last few decades.

If you choose to make a loan to the Cooperative you will have your choice of payback period and interest rate, ranging from 2-5years and 2-4%, the longer the payback period, the higher interest you can earn! (minimum $1,000)

If you would like to show your support with a donation, we can set up monthly automatic debits from your account, or of course, a one time donation is more than welcome.
